haven't tested yet. I imagine it will be slower on the Mac.. Its been forever since I remember a major studio besides ID develop with OpenGL and not just for the DirecX engine... So I imagine there is a learning curve. Thought I read somewhere that Valve said they'd be working to improve performance... Just glad to see all platforms getting a chance. Now, how about they bring steam to the web. I know you Android fans would love to play some CSS on your Incredible Na, we'll be too busy playing flash games. Although linux users have been playing cs for years without dual booting, but native support would be great, and since OS-X is just another Unix knock off maybe it isn't too far off. http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=ODE3MwThere's been a flury of steam for linux activity lately. I imagine we'll at least see a leak before the year ends.

Well, if its on OS X, there is no real reason it can't run in Linux...

CS:S finally hits Macs next week... TF2 has been fun, but its no CS:S.
And no, performance isn't as high as I'd like, but it is pretty good. I'm not sure if its the platform, or the fact that my resolution is so high. Everything looks fine when I lower the resolution a bit.. But my lower resolution on my Mac is still higher than anything I ran CS:S at on my PC.. so its still an apple to orange comparison.

As much fun as it is to hate on apple, nVidia has f***ed me on driver updates in the past too. Hell yes, I will install on my linux box just for a tux or tux knock off hat.

Yes, but...
Once steam releases on linux/mac OpenGL will overtake DirectX and there will be great video and mouse drivers for linux/mac.
One can dream, right?

I didn't... but then I realized I have an ATI card and it won't impact me. Oh, and Valve is going to quickly learn, Apple doesn't make adjustments to their OS when an application has trouble with it.. Valve will have to fix the issue. I mean come on, would Microsoft change an OS update because a game ran slower on it.. ?

It does appear that Apple doesn't seem to give a damn about it's relationship with devs based on how it treats them. So they may remain the OS that finally gets games 5-10 years after release.

nvidia provides apple the drivers... I don't think this was a driver update though. Something else in the OS that is causing issues with the driver.
