"It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world. "

"Delay is preferable to error."
"Educate and inform the whole mass of the people... They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty. "

"Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves are its only safe depositories. "

Adding almost a trillion to it in the first month on the job... isn't the best start..

in his first month lincoln made decisions which drove 4 states to join the confederacy, not exactly the best start.  but hey he was dealt a shitty hand and played the hell out of it.  it is way too soon to be judging this president, just hold onto your butts cause we were strapped into this roller coaster a while ago.

I'm not saying that he hasn't made the right decisions... I'm just saying he's now accountable for $1 trillion...

I wonder what other presidents had a crappy first month.

if our forums/server gets in financial trouble in the future, can we appeal for a stake of the stimulus plan? that'd be sweet.
