The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim were founded in 1993 by The Walt Disney Company. The team's original name was chosen from the Disney movie The Mighty Ducks, based on a group of misfit kids who turn their losing youth hockey team into a winning team.

That's a good enough reason for anyone.

i do live in los angeles and i do love my kings. even if they make poor decisions and choke everytime they can smell a chance of a win.
the penguins are alright. i guess the ducks are the only team that i just cant stand. if temu was on another team id like it alot more.
im a vancouver, toronto and montreal fan.
my peak hockey enjoyment was the pavel bure era. that was also the same era we saw gretzky dominate. i would actually tape the game, go to my softball game, come back and watch it. i think i still have gretzky's 200th somewhere taped. and i think i remember it being against my canucks. Tongue
but... i also enjoy watching detroit play. obvious reasons its like saying 'yeah, i like the yankees. but i dont like the players. i just like the organization.' i enjoy the way they run the ice as a team.

I'm a die hard Montreal fan and have been since I was 5 years old. I did however stray to loving the Penguins for the entire time I Lemieux was playing. I played AAA in Moose Jaw SK for a few years but decided to quit playing for reasons I still regret Sad

Anyways, Washington IS still bad, but their new jersey's are snazzy. Although my Junior A teams jerseys were based off the last one so I have some nostalgia for them.
Pittsburgh however, is not good. Or in good shape at least. They have made some absolutely retarded drafts. They have several current/futuire stars on their hands, and they are about to explode to to cap restrictions. Getting rid of them isn't going to be easy unless they do it soon before their players switch classes in the CBA.  The problem is:"

-Crosby
-Malkin
-Staal
-Fleury
and now: Angelo Esposito, their latest draft pick.
Within the next 3 years(if not sooner) Pittsburgh will have no choice but to sign these players to "ridiculously" large amounts. now most will be merited because these are players of talent, but look at the big picture:
-Crosby, the "next one", will NOT be accepting a contract lower than 8 million. at least. period.(unless he fires all his agents and signs the contract with a lawyer by his side!)
-Malkin, crazy good kid as we've seen, would be a number one liner on any team in the league...do your really think he'll settle for less than crosby? if he does...id say 7 million.
-Staal, Fleury, Esposito, all franchise players who can make this team the godly winner we know it will be, I'll be fair and say 4-5 million each.
so were looking at 30 million on 5 players(if it isn't more)...that leaves roughly 15 million to sign the rest of your team...in today's NHL, this is defiantly one of the best ways to "dig yourself a hole" - Pittsburgh Style

Anywho, I'm just bitter that the Habs didn't take a risk and get Cherepanov when they could have, or even Espisito for that matter. ALbeit he would have probably been crushed under the pressure of playing for, and being from Montreal.

dude seriously... i was never allowed to play hockey. my dad didnt want to pay my dental bills.

they dont even get air time. ticket sales keep goin up to satisfy the salary and loss of tv placement. i cant fathom that two tickets to a game are going to soon cost me almost $100.

Crosby is alright Wink . ive seen him play a few times. i was a bit disappointed in Heatly's performance in the cup game. i was hoping to see the 'pre-accident' guy come back and show his stuff.
its good to know another montreal fan Smiley
they better not every get rid of Aebischer

i am excited for next season. i miss don cherry's voice so imma have to buy that damn hockey package on directv.

They will get rid of Abby no question this summer. They have 5 NHL starting able goalies on their team, 2 of which they can afford to play in Hamilton (AHL) who will probably be Dannis and Price, for development purposes although Price is very able to play on at the NHL level. They just traded Leighton leaving them with Halak, Huet, and Abby for Montreal. The only way I can see them NOT getting rid of Abby is if they decide since hes the cheapest they keep one of the other 2 and keep Abby as their backup while trading one of the more expensive for a forward.

I remember hating Abby for being so inconsistent in CO, although I think he did pretty well coming to MTL.

damnit. see what happens when i dont keep up? i cant handle the tradings.

i didnt like aebischer when he played for colorado either. infact, i used to hate colorado. but when forsburg joined the team i was ok with it. i think mainly because i have a issue with expansion teams.

and wtf.
jermey roenick is now in phoenix
that is some BULLSH*T.
he's one of my favorite players and was just on my kings.
i got to see him play four time ever.

your much more in tune to hockey than me. do you do any fantasy?
