What an awesome game the Utes performed last night. Spectacular offense in the beginning and overall great defense throughout the game. GG 'bama. GG. The Utes claim to be the best in the nation as they're the last one who's undefeated; that's something to discuss. I personally they are the best because of that. few pics for illustration of the games tone: youtube video:

Not the best, but we'll never know through the bowl system.

They did the MWC proud. I believe a number 2 or 3 rankings is accurate. If they played and beat a top 3 team from the Big12 also I'd agree they were the best team.

After last nights performance, I don't think they are just an ok team in a very weak conference. Beating Alabama is definitely a feat.... Unfortunately I don't believe they could beat or even contend for the title against OU, Florida, or Texas. I give them a 4th place rank after the bama bashing, though I don't think if they played bama again that they'd win.

What a great game. I was so stoked after the first quarter. If only they could have kept up that momentum.
All in all a great game. I don't think they'll take Utah seriously until they keep surprising everyone. Maybe the year after next.

The BCS is borked.
We've proven it twice in 5 years.
Who gives a hooey about what rank we are, the system is broken.

Add to that Boise State's win a few years back... and even the past few Rose Bowl trounces by USC to prove that the BCS is totally fail.

The BCS is only really designed to put the top 2 teams against each other. Previously, #1 went to one bowl and #2 went to another. IF both won, sometimes you'd have 2 teams declared number 1. To try and resolve that the BCS conferences said "Hey, we're the National Champion Conferences 99% of the time, so lets just setup the bowls so that #1 always plays #2".
The rest of the BCS bowls is just branding for more money.

here's an awesome espn poll w/ over 184K votes counted: it asks: After defeating Alabama and finishing 13-0, does Utah deserve a slice of the national championship? and it seems Florida needs a recount....LAWL http://sports.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnation/poll/index
