OH WAIT...American College Sports?

college sports > professional sports

It's much more fun when everyone isn't being paid millions of dollars

I said they weren't being paid millions of dollars.

Yes, a lot of college athletes get paid exorbitant amounts to play for their college, but I still don't think that they are as lucrative as professional teams. Although, considering the college may sometimes be a public entity, I don't know.

You can tell I've really sat down and thought this through.

College Sports are better than professional sports because College Sports market the Team... Professional Sports market the individual.

This impacts style of play, strategy, and just how much you give a crap.

Kobe Bryant is going to shoot the last shot every game, not because its the best coaching decision, or because it gives them the best chance to win... He's going to shoot it because if he does and makes it the NBA will sell X number of more jerseys.

I still think the OU / BSU bowl game was the best sporting event I've ever seen - no way in hell you'd ever see the statue of liberty and the hook and ladder in a pro game (and they worked - which would also never happen in the pro game).

BTW - BYU vs. Utah is starting to get huge with BCS implications now that the U got by TCU.  Good times!

Yep, with BYU eyeing that number 12 ranking and Utah having to win to get in also, it will be one of the best BYU vs. Utah games...  Of course, Utah looks to have an extremely superior defense to BYUs....

Slow return missionaries just can't play defensive back... when will they learn! ARGH!  *shakes fist*  ARGH!
