Hey i havent been able to play css that often due to my graphics card. Source will crash in an hour of playtime and sometimes even in windows.... I have a 9800Gtx with a 500 watt power supply. So im either thinking im not getting enough power or my graphics card failing. Also i had a 7900 gt that was having a lot of problems like the screen will scramble and shit, but i checked online and many people had the same problems. anyways i sent in my RMA so just wondering your opinions.

BIOS won't show your GPU temps... usually? I've only seen the BIOS show mobo and cpu. Anyway, you'll want to see what your temps are while running gpu intensive programs. This will: http://www.download.com/SpeedFan/3000-2094_4-10067444.htmlAlso i had a 7900 gt that was having a lot of problems like the screen will scramble and shit, Sounds like you were artifacting, a tell tale sign of overheating. Get some fans.

Get some fans. He's right. Download ATI Tool and run the artifact test. This will tell you your GPU temp WHILE displaying graphically intensive images.

Even when it goes for an hour?
You say you only have problems after an hour or so. Describing how windows crashes would be incredibly useful here - crash is a horrifically ambiguous term.
Right now what seems likely is overheating because you have a problem at about the same time every crash. Does the computer loop sound and crash, does it start artifacting before the crash, does it blue screen, just turn off, do you smell smoke?
We're more than likely help you to diagnose this problem, we just need a more complete description of the problem.

66c Isn't terribly warm, so I would say that isn't the main problem.

I would run CSS for a while and check the temps while it's still running.

Okay well the problem stopped and the only thing different that i did... was update my javascript which has been old for the last 6 months, and i stopped playing de_contra... could it be anything due to the map?

I get the feeling Killa had found that graphic and was hankering for the chance to use it - may have been a *little* premature.

omg BAG of hate is here!
and blackdevil, there is always the slight possibility that your pci-express bus is failing/shorting(maybe a defect can't handle the powerdraw)... Have you tried to put it a lower end graphics card? (Maybe buy one and return it.)
