Maybe I'm behind, and someone posted on this already, but wtf is this crap m$ is trying to pull?  They want to patent a pay-as-you-go plan, and then charge you according to use of your computers utilities?!?!  Are they really trying to pull this off?

Read about that the other day.  They acknowledge that it is likely the user will wind up paying more than they would if they bought the stuff outright, but they think it is a good idea cause f*** the consumer.

Not getting a patent just means they can't keep people from copying this business model, not that they can't use it.  Just like I'd get denied if I tried to patent putting my pants on one leg at a time, of course I'd still put my pants on this way I just can't make you pay me for doing it the same way.
