Got the aforementioned to replace my PSU/GPU which took died 3 weeks ago.

Both stonking good components.

Vid card is decently priced. Not worth the upgrade price vs the 260 on performance if it wasn't for the fact that the fan is sooo much quieter, you don't get any capacitor hum, and it overclocks like a darling. Even on my 4800x2 I can still pull great frames in most games at near high quality. The card is a juggernaut in comparison to my edit:7950gx2 and I'm very happy with the purchase.
PSU is awesomely priced at the moment on Newegg. Dead silent and rock solid. Not modular, but oh well. There are tons of cables and they are long! Which is awesome if you're in a full sized case and have had trouble with cables in the past. My only complaint is that the corsair packaging smelled like mothballs and the smell hasn't worn off yet. Gughghh

Although it's rather looney to put either in a 4 year old machine, I'll be upgrading in the fall (or once i7 Motherboards drop in price; those things are expensive) to a i7 920 and the complimentary components.

Until then, both get the Laby's seal of approval.

Both very good choices - I got a 4890 a few months ago and with I'd gotten the 275 for temp / noise levels.  I'm debating the Enermax Revolution 1050 they have on sale for $205 after rebate.

Never hurts to upgrade reusable components, especially the video card.  Game much Laby?

Wait so you had a 4850x2 and upgraded it to a GTX 260? Or are you running a Athlon X2 4850 processor currently?

Hah! Woops. Bad typo.

I was running a 7950GX2 (the long lost forgotten card that nVidia hyped and then shat on), 4800X2, 2GB g.skill all overclocked to various levels throughout their lifetime.
Now I'm running the GTX275 with the same components. So, I have some serious bottlenecks.

I was debating a 4870/50 or x2 versions as they kept getting good ratings. Although, everyone saying that they were really hot power hogs, and ran noisy as jet engines scared me off. That coupled with Sapphire's less than optimal customer service put the final nail in the coffin.
