Incase you haven’t heard the news, PS3’s Fat Princess is under attack by feminists. The game has been labeled ‘fat hating’ and reinforces stereotypes.
Fat Princess is more or less an original twist to CTF. Your princess has been captured and you must rescue her. Sounds pretty standard, right? Go get the object, bring it back, score, do it over again. There’s a twist, though. The other team has been filling her full of cake, which causes her to blow up like a giant, raving, ear wigged balloon. In fact, she’s so amazingly fat, that it’s going to take almost your whole team to get her back.
On to the good stuff: Feminist Gamers and Shakespeare Sister are both up in arms about the game. Jim Sterling from Destructoid summed it up best in his article,
Feminist Gamers (ha ha) has attacked the game, claiming it will “reinforce nasty stereotypes about women and the obese.” What’s the negative stereotype? That fat people like to eat? It’s TRUE! That fat people are heavy? I HAVE PERSONAL EVIDENCE THAT THEY ARE! I’ve never seen a negative stereotype about a fat person. It’s. All. True.
Shakesville was even worse. McEwan more or less ranted and raved about the game, posted a picture about her flipping us off, and then spouted a load of feminist bullcrock while trying to be sarcastic and witty. In the end, she came off as a pretentious douchebag.
Hooray Feminism! (I’m apparently too Heteronormative to be politically correct, here.)

[...] - so they’ve decided to cover Fat Princess. No, they did not bother to contribute to the ‘controversy’ regarding this game, they just made themselves look like a bunch of idiots while talking about it. [...]
