Good news - E3’s final day was better than the 2nd to last day.

Bad news - it still wasn’t that great.

Odd news - There’s still about 5 games to be talked about and covered, even though the conference is over.

On to the good stuff!

Next KOTOR will be an MMo.

From Portfolio.com

“We’ve got two of the most compelling MMOs in the industry in development,” said Riccitiello. The first title, based on the Warhammer property, will launch soon. “And the one that people are dying for us to talk to them about — in partnership with Lucas, coming out of BioWare, which is, I think, quite possibly the most anticipated game, full stop, for the industry at the point when we get closer to telling you about it.”

Does Riccitiello mean the oft rumored Knights of the Old Republic Online? “Yes,” he said.

Ehhh…. I dunno how well KOTOR’s unique single player experience will translate into an MMO. At least it can’t be any worse that Galaxies. My thoughts on the subject:

Moving right along.

Nintendo is Retarded

Need I say more? *sigh*

The Witcher: Fixed Edition

omg

If I was one of those cooks who bothered to pick up The Witcher, play through a few chapters and give up because the game was only 60% finished, then I would be STOKED to hear a ‘fixed’ version is on the way. Considering, I’m on of the crazies who actually beat the game, I’m torn between anguish and rage. I’m still excited that they’re fixing the game so people will actually play it, but I won’t be playing through it again.

Fixes are rumored to include retranslated dialogue, rewritten dialogue, a decrease in the crappy ‘beginner’ areas (OMG you get to the main storyline before 10 hours of crappy gameplay, no wai!), faster loading times, engine fixes, revamped NPCs, etc. etc.

That being said, if you did give up on The Witcher due to long loading times, the glitchy engine, and random crashes, you’ll want to try the ‘fixed’ and more ‘complete’ version. It was a decent enough RPG to bother playing through while broken, I can only imagine that the fixes will make it awesome.

Red Alert 3
I seriously debated throwing this in earlier this week, but after seeing the latest gameplay trailer for it, I couldn’t help put it in. Hopefully it ends up being a decent RTS. Right now, it’s more of a nostalgia trip with better graphics.

Neverwinter Nights 2: Storm of Zehir
This interview actually makes me somewhat interested in this game. Okay, not really. Maybe if I had bothered to play NWN2, then I would be excited about an expansion pack. As it stands, it looks cool, but I’m not exactly too interested. Who knows, maybe one of you will be.

Dragon Age: Origins
I had never heard of this game before E3, and I must admit it looks decent. The fact that Bioware is pushing it out peaks my interest as well. The trailer looks fairly generic, but it caught my interest. It has a decently ‘dark’ feel to it that might peak my interest.

Infamous
Yawn. I’m not very easily impressed by Deus Ex ripoffs, and this looks like it could easily be similar. Although, some of you may be impressed by it, so I’ll include it to your satisfaction.

That’s it,folks. The E3 coverage. Maybe a few more juicy tidbits will trickle in, but don’t keep your fingers crossed.

Nintendo may be retarded… BUT they are rich… really rich…

And you have to admit, that their market strategy is working. While they’re not following other console or PC gaming trends, they’re selling a lot, and I mean a lot of hardware and software. And despite how stupid those people look (and they do look stupid) people will buy those games because its multiple people doing something together.

While on the opposite side, you see hard core gamers in their cold dark rooms with their headsets on, and shouting at their “online” friends over ventrilo while the individuals looking on think they look pretty stupid to (I include myself in both groups of stupid lookingness).

What if it’s a warm room. It’s 100 degrees here, and I don’t have central air. That makes me less lame, right?

Yes, I will admit Nintendo has an excellent marketing strategy. They have managed to pull a large portion of the public who was not previously interested in video games. The thing I dislike about this new direction is the lack of focus on what made Nintendo, Nintendo. Sure, they are doing very well, but I dislike the casual gaming revolution.

Nintendo isn’t that rich. EA and MS are rich.
