It’s a small world afterall, I never suspected an old acquaintance would become the Fatal1ty of rhythm games.
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away I used to play rhythm games. Not Guitar Hero or Rock Band, this was far before that. This was back in the days of IIDX (Beatmania) and DDR (Dance Dance Revolution); back when rhythm games were still underground.
To make a long story short - during my 3 year stay with the Cobalt Flux crowd, I saw a few people come and go. Some were bad, some were good, and a handful were amazing. As I was leaving the scene due to jaw surgery and WoW, a new kid showed up - iamchris4life. He was amazing. Absolutely amazing. Chris would do things that most could only daydream about; it was obvious this kid had a knack for rhythm games.
I left and didn’t bother to keep up anyone from the good ol’ days. That has not
changed, but when I noticed iamchris4life in a New York Times Article, I couldn’t help but read it. Apparently Chris has been pwning up Guitar Hero after the DDR scene imploded.
When I saw pwning the GH scene, I really mean it; Chris was not just world class at DDR. In fact, he may very well be the best GH player in the world. He holds 100% of Through the Fire and the Flames and equally impressive scores on other songs. Yes, that means he is the teen from the infamous youtube video:
Now Chris is looking to release his own line of gaming products and consults with designers for future GH games and products. Quite the feat for a 17 year old. Best of wishes to Chris in all of his endeavors, it has been quite a fun walk down memory lane.
