Star Trek Online

Urgh, more MMOs? Even worse, more decent Sci-Fi series to be ruined as MMOs? You can tell how excited I am. Regardless, here’s the news for you who have a slightly higher opinion of the ratio of MMOs Made : Successful MMOs.

Star Trek Online was (re)announced,  but we don’t konw anything about it. We know that it is an MMO, it has to do with Star Trek and it is made by the same people who made City of Heroes (There is hope!) Well, I guess we’ve got this comment from CEO Jack Emmert, but it’s not much:

“Star Trek was never about a single character, ship or even planet; Star Trek was always about an entire universe. And MMORPGs are uniquely suited to create such a thing and allow players to explore every inch.”

Expect more about Star Trek Online at the Star Trek convention in Vegas on August 10th.

Next up is Stargate Worlds which makes me want to jump for joy and jab my eyes out at the same time. I’m one of those poor children whose parents liked Stargate, so I’ve seen almost every episode (A bad thing, mind you) so, I’m happy that a game is on the way, but am saddened by its expected failure.

Enough blubbering from me, though. Here’s the most recent gameplay trailer from Comic-Con. Reminds me of Tabula Rosa and Mass Effect. Hrmmm… Tasty.

Expect SG-W Q4 2008 or Q1 2009.
